2026-03-13 – 1st School of COMENZE

post

We recently had the pleasure of taking part in the 1st School of COMENZE, organized within the COMENZE project.

Our in silico team was strongly represented by Artur, Agata, Chiara, Weronika, Patryk, and Wiktor. For Patryk and Wiktor, this was their first international scientific trip, making it a particularly exciting experience!

The school was very well organized, and we would like to thank Prof. Silvia Osuna for her effort and coordination. The lectures and hands-on sessions were carefully prepared and delivered by experienced researchers.

We were also happy to contribute to the program:

🔹 Artur gave a detailed theoretical lecture on our AQUA-DUCT tool

🔹 Agata led a hands-on session, where participants could explore and analyze AQUA-DUCT results across several examples

On the final day, Chiara, as a member of the COMENZE doctoral network, presented her PhD research to other participants.

Overall, we are especially pleased with the solid introduction we gained to QM/MM calculations and we hope to build on this knowledge in our future work.

Beyond the scientific program, the afternoons were a great opportunity to connect with other COMENZE members, meet many motivated young scientists, and exchange experiences.

And finally, the location itself: Patja d’Aro on the Costa Brava turned out to be an incredibly beautiful and inspiring place to spend this time together.
